Stokesley M1 vs Sheffield University Bankers M2 (H) - 2-1 (W)

After a loss last week that shall not be named the salamanders were back in full force for their game against Sheffield Bankers. The defence looked normal again with Phil Rose in his rightful CB position hopes were high.

The first half started slow with both teams attacking with no prowess and no end result. After 35 minutes of back and forth with no outcome the first half finished 0-0. Half time team talk along with some great sweets caused a change in tactics round the back.

The second half started off with a well worked Sheffield bankers field goal to put stokesley 0-1 down. It wasn’t looking good for the salamanders but Geo decided to step up with a new way of play the defence began to step up creating play higher up the pitch. Stokesley began to dominate the ball tiring the Bankers out. A well timed counter attack saw Rapha play an unbelievable ball from the left to Dawson who slipped it back post for Jude to score. 1-1.

Just three minutes later it happened again. A counter attack saw Jack Atha on the ball running up the left, after beating his man with some well played skills he slipped it back to Dawson for the first time slap into the back of the goal. Stokesley led 2-1 with just 10 minutes to go.

The bus got parked and Dhruv stood with the ball time wasting at the back. In a last ditch attempt the bankers took their keeper off with minutes to spare but it was for nothing the game finished 2-1 Stokesley putting them on the board with 3 points.
