Hull M1 v Stokesley M1 (A) - 2-3 (W)

Date: Saturday 5th October 2024, 12:15

MOM: Adam

Goals: Breeze x2, Alexander x1

The hour was late, about 12:30 to be precise when a young George Walker stumbled home from the white swan. As he turned the corner to get to his house he made a foolish decision.

He decided to jump a small fence into his front garden instead of walking a very small distance to his door he hopped the fence and in doing so bent his ankle at a 90 degree ankle. A cry of anguish was heard all around stokesley and a snapping sound echoed the empty streets. He then thought “Oh I’ll just walk this off”.

However when he awoke the simple task of walking to the bathroom became an impossible task. Needless to say Stokesley Hockey Club started the day already a man down but, with 3 wins from their last 3 games they were as confident as ever.

As is tradition at Stokesley the DOTD has to write the match report so as it was yours truly and I wasn’t at the game I now have to go off what I’ve been told…

It was a sunny day, and maybe the boys were still not firing on all cylinders due to the long journey as they found themselves 2-0 down however I’m going to assume that breezy scored some short corners and then Josh scored as well.

The winning goal was also quite late in the game so I imagine it would have been a thrilling game to watch.

At the end of the day the whole club and Gentz Barbers sympathies with George Walker's nasty injury and wishes him a speedy recovery.

Next game: Sheffield M2 - HOME (Saturday 12th October 2024, 12:00 push back)
