Stokesley 3s v Marton Furness 3s (0-4)
Stokesley battled hard throughout the first half against a tough Marton side. With chances at both ends but not utilised the sides went into the break at 0-0. In the second half Marton stepped up the press which offered chances and goals. Unfortunately Stoeksley did not manage the pressure and soon the score became 4-0 through quick fire goals. Stokesley continued to battle and chances to get goals back were unsuccessful. Even with a cracking reverse shot hit the bar courtesy of Matty Boal. Stoeksley had plenty of positives from the fixture and will take these into the next game when they take on Darlington 2s.
Just three minutes later, Stokesley’s high-pressing game once again reaped rewards. Rapha Shaw intercepted a loose ball and quickly laid it off to Kev Lane, whose perfectly weighted pass found Rob Walker in space. Walker capitalised on the opportunity with a superb reverse-stick finish, doubling the advantage.
