Positive start to the season for Stokesley 3s. Stokesley 3s made an excellent start to the new season with a convincing 4–0 victory over Thirsk 3s, delivering an encouraging performance and plenty of positives to take into the games ahead.

With a number of promising young players joining the squad, Stokesley demonstrated good composure and a clear intent to play attractive, possession-based hockey. The team moved the ball effectively throughout the match, creating opportunities through some excellent build-up play and finishing with four well-crafted goals.

Kev, AJ, Chris and Ethan were all on the scoresheet, ensuring the goals were shared across the side and reflecting a strong collective attacking performance.

Stokesley's defensive work was equally impressive. The team remained disciplined and committed without the ball, limiting Thirsk's opportunities and securing a deserved clean sheet. The defensive organisation provided a solid foundation for the attacking players to express themselves further up the pitch.

While there are inevitably areas that can be improved as the season progresses, the overall performance provided a strong indication of what this Stokesley 3s side can achieve. The result represents an ideal starting point for the campaign, with the squad able to take confidence from both the result and the manner of the performance.

Alfie was deservedly awarded Man of the Match following a commanding display in central defence, helping to lead the defensive effort and contributing significantly to the clean sheet.

Stokesley 3s will now look to build on this positive opening result when they welcome Marton 3s on Saturday 19th.
