Stokesley Hockey Club Hosts Successful Junior Hockey Festival
Sunday 18th October 2026
Stokesley Hockey Club was delighted to welcome junior teams from across the local area for a fantastic day of hockey, with clubs travelling from Whitby, Marton Furness, Durham City and Hartlepool Caledonians to take part.
The event was split into three age groups: Under 8s, Under 10s and Under 13s, providing young players with the opportunity to develop their skills, enjoy competitive hockey and represent their clubs.
It was great to see so many young individuals taking to the pitch, with plenty of excellent play throughout the day. All matches were played in the right spirit, with free-flowing hockey, plenty of chances created and lots of touches on the ball. The enthusiasm and enjoyment on display were a real credit to all the players and coaches involved.
The event was also well supported by parents from all the participating clubs, whose encouragement and enthusiasm helped create a brilliant atmosphere throughout the day.
The real highlight was seeing junior hockey continue to grow and strengthen across Teesside and the wider North East. Events like this provide invaluable opportunities for young players to gain experience, build confidence and develop a lasting love for the game, while bringing local clubs together to support the next generation of hockey players.
Following the success of the festival, Stokesley Hockey Club is already looking ahead to hosting another junior event in late November and hopes to welcome even more clubs from across the region.
With such enthusiasm, talent and sportsmanship on display, the future looks bright for hockey across Teesside and the North East. Stokesley Hockey Club is proud to play its part in helping the junior game continue to thrive and looks forward to welcoming everyone back for another great day of hockey soon.
