THE HISTORY MAKERS - Stokesley HC Junior Development Team – Match Report
Sunday 11th October 2026
A historic occasion for Stokesley Hockey Club as our Junior Development Team took to the pitch for the club's first-ever Junior Development fixture, welcoming Hartlepool Caledonians for what proved to be a fantastic day of hockey.
The result was a brilliant 1–0 victory for Stokesley, but the occasion was about so much more than the final score. It was an opportunity for our young players to put their developing skills into practice, experience competitive hockey and, most importantly, enjoy representing their club.
From the first whistle, there was no shortage of enthusiasm, energy or determination. The Stokesley youngsters showed tremendous character, teamwork and commitment, demonstrating just how much progress they have made through their training sessions.
There were plenty of encouraging performances across the pitch, with players showing confidence on the ball, a willingness to work for one another and some excellent examples of the skills they have been learning.
The match was played in a fantastic spirit, with both teams demonstrating sportsmanship, respect and a genuine love for the game. Credit must go to Hartlepool Caledonians, who helped make this historic first fixture such an enjoyable and positive experience.
Players of the Match: Lily, Olly, Albie and Saba
Special congratulations to our four Players of the Match, who all deserve recognition for their contributions. However, every single player involved should be incredibly proud of their performance and the part they played in this milestone for the club.
For Stokesley HC, this fixture represents another important step forward in our commitment to developing junior hockey and creating opportunities for young players to progress into competitive matches and, eventually, senior hockey.
The future of both clubs certainly looks bright if the enthusiasm, talent and character displayed by these young players are anything to go by.
A huge thank you to the coaches, volunteers, parents and supporters who helped make the occasion possible, and to Hartlepool Caledonians for being part of this special moment.
