Stokesley 3s Fight Back to Earn a Point Against Redcar
Stokesley 3s showed plenty of character and determination to fight back from 4–1 down and earn a hard-fought draw away at Redcar.

Stokesley started the game brightly, putting Redcar under pressure and taking an early lead through a superb reverse-hit strike from Jacko. However, Redcar gradually worked their way back into the contest, capitalising on some uncharacteristically poor play from Stokesley to turn the game around and take a 2–1 lead into half-time.
The second half proved to be a goal-fest, with Redcar coming out strongly and scoring two quick goals to extend their advantage to 4–1. With the game seemingly slipping away from them, it looked like it could be a difficult afternoon for the young Stokesley side.
But this team is beginning to show real signs of growth, and they weren't about to throw in the towel.
With quicker, more purposeful passing, Stokesley began to find their rhythm and put Redcar back under pressure. Jacko sparked the comeback with his second goal of the afternoon, breaking quickly down the left-hand side before finding the back of the net.
The momentum continued to swing Stokesley's way, and Jacko completed his hat-trick with a confidently converted penalty flick to make it 4–3. Suddenly, the game was well and truly alive, with Stokesley pushing hard for an equaliser.
With less than 10 minutes remaining, Jonny won a short corner in the D, giving Stokesley the perfect opportunity to draw level. The captain stepped up and duly converted, completing an impressive comeback and bringing the scores to 4–4.
There was still time for late drama. Stokesley thought they had snatched a winner when Ethan fired towards goal, only for a goal-line save to deny them at the last moment. The final whistle followed soon after, confirming a share of the points.

While it may only be a point, coming back from 4–1 down is a testament to the spirit, resilience and growing maturity of this young Stokesley side. Rather than letting their heads drop, they showed real character, improved their play and fought until the very end. These are the performances that demonstrate how far a team is progressing.
Stokesley will now look to build on this result as they prepare to face Stockton 4s at home in the Tees Cup, hoping to carry their second-half momentum into the next fixture.
